Short essay with conjunctions

With conjunctions, you don’t need to write short and choppy sentences. Using simple words like “but”, “however”, or “and”, we can extend our sentences.

You can remember that they all contain fewer than four letters. For example: Fred couldn't lie anymore, sohe told the truth. The coordinating conjunction "so" connects two independent parts – the first one informs us that Frank could not lie anymore and the second one informs us that he told the truth.

Correlative conjunctions join two equal parts of a single sentence. They are expressed in pairs. You must use both of them at the correct places to make one complete logical and grammatically correct sentence. Some of the most commonly used correlative conjunctions are as follows:

Subordinating conjunctions are similar to coordinating conjunctions in that they join two clauses, but where coordinating conjunctions join independent clauses, subordinating conjunctions join an independent clause with a dependent clause.
